Days after a rights group, Enough is Enough, filed a suit at the Federal High Court, Abuja, against him, Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has finally filed his defence of five volumes of 1800 pages and has also moved to present 203 witnesses.

Governor Ganduje according to his lawyer, Barrister Musa Abdullahi Lawan, on Saturday, said his client is set to prove that there was a free and fair election staged in the state on 23th March 2019.

Shortly after filing the papers before the State Elections Tribunal sitting at Milla road, Kano, Lawan who spoke with newsmen said the PDP’s petition was unnecessary in the first place but they had to file a defence in return.

He said, “We brought in our processes in defense of the petition and we have done it with the time and we are very confident of winning and right from the beginning we are saying PDP petition was unnecessary.”

Lawan also added that they are bringing in 203 witnesses who are key and they are to tell the Court that there was indeed a free and fair election staged in Kano State about two months ago.

“We are highly confident of winning this case because the whole world admits that there was an elections and that Governor Ganduje actually won the election,” he said.
