#GC2018: D’Tigers lose final group game to Australia
After picking up two defeats against New Zealand and Canada at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Australia, D’Tigers, have again been defeated, by Australia, in the men’s basketball event.
The Nigeria’s senior basketball team lost their final group game 97-55 to the hosts in the men’s preliminary round pool A on Monday.
Nigeria lost all four quarters 23-17, 25-10, 28-14 and 21-14.

The 2017 AfroBasket runners-up started poorly at the Gold Coast competition with a 110-65 defeat to New Zealand.
They lost again to Canada in the second group game, falling 82-67 to the North Americans.
The top two teams from Pool A will proceed to the Semi-Finals. The bottom two teams from Pool A will play the top two teams from Pool B in the qualifying finals.
Nigeria’s best finish in the basketball event at the Commonwealth Games was a fourth-place finish at the 2006 edition.
