German minister fears US may begin trade war with Europe
German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel is concerned that the US led by President Donald Trump may begin a trade war with Europe.
The minister expressed his fears when revealing that much ahead of a G20 summit in the port city of Hamburg.
“There are things that cause great concern that the United States start a trade war with Europe,” Gabriel told Deutschlandfunk radio without elaborating.

He also added that Berlin would continue to seek through dialogue a situation in which Germany and the U.S. could act together.
Gabriel who is just returning from a multi-day trip to the Gulf region, weighed-in on the festering diplomatic row saying that there no risk of a military escalation in the Qatar crisis as there was progress in resolving the matter.
