BOKO HARAM VOWS TO BOMB ABUJA: It's empty threat, Army says

Nigerians have been enjoined to organize themselves into vigilante groups to help fight insurgency that has been ravaging the country.

The Theater Commander of Operation “Lafiya Dole” Major-General Yushau Abubakar, made the appeal on Sunday.

He said citizens’ involvement in the fight against terrorism could also come in form of giving information to the soldiers, stressing that the military operations alone might not easily subdue the terrorists.

He emphasized that the military needed information and cooperation from all Nigerians to win the war against the insurgents.

The army officer also called for well-meaning wealthy Nigerians to give necessary assistance to the military so that the insurgency in the country would soon become a thing of the past.

He assured that the military was determined to conquer the insurgents.

“This battle can best be won at the quickest time with the co-operation of all stakeholders”, he said, even as he hailed the media for the noble roles they have played so far.
