Globacom and Huawei Technologies to reward 150 Nigerian students with smartphones, fast internet

Globacom displaces Airtel In Nigeria's mobile network rating

Globacom and Huawei Technologies have recently planned to reward a hundred and fifty (150) Nigerian students across thirty (30) institutions within the country with high-end smartphones and fast internet service.

The program which will also provide free Huawei smartphones with six months unlimited Glo 4G data to five (5) students and five (5) Huawei routers with pre-loaded 60GB of Glo 4G data to the institution, will be rewarded to top five (5) final year students in each institution.

The program which kicked off recently at the Babcock University, Ilishan, Ogun state is targeted to aiding fast and free internet Wi-Fi connectivity for research purposes and to allow students stay connected to good internet for academic tasks while outside of the school premises.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics, Professor Iheanyichukwu Okoro, thanked Globacom and Huawei Technologies for the gesture which he said would motivate students to be more hardworking, stimulate healthy competition and spur them to brilliant performance.

“Our students will continue to cherish this recognition of excellence,” Professor Okoro said.
