Good riddance to bad rubbish

The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has told a former governorship aspirant on the platform of the party, Olusola Oke, that his defection to the Alliance for Democracy, AD, was indeed a blessing.

Oke, who participated in the disputed governorship primary of the APC in Ondo State, dumped the party for AD in the wake of controversies surrounding the emergence of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Rotimi Akeredolu as the candidate of the APC for the November 26 governorship election in the state.

The party, in a statement by its state Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Adesanya, said the defection of Oke would not affect its chances in November, as none of its chieftains followed him to AD.

He added that the APC was not surprised with the defection of Oke, as “a leopard will never change its spot.”
Adesanya noted that the leadership of the party in the Southwest has never been convinced that former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, strongman was ever done with the PDP.
