Gov Ambode orders VIO to leave Lagos roads

FLOODING: LASG issues 48-hour ultimatum for removal of ‘illegal’ structures

Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, has instructed the Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIOs) to without delay, temporarily suspend its operations in the state.

It was learnt that following the order by the governor, the officers are not expected on Lagos roads until further instructions from the state government.

Already, officers of the VIO, which is under the Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS), are said to have vacated all Lagos roads for about a week now, sequel to the governor’s instruction.

It was further learnt that the order by Governor Ambode was based on the state government’s drive to compulsorily train and retrain all state public workers despite their cadres.
