Gov Emmanuel sacks ‘Akpabio’s’ cabinet

The Akwa Ibom State governor, Emmanuel Udom has dissolved the State Executive Council, effectively sacking every commissioner.

The commissioners who are mostly made up of carryovers from his predecessor, Goodswill Akpabio, were relieved of their duties with immediate effect.

A short statement from the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Etekamba Umoren made available to newsmen in Uyo, the state’s capital, directed them to hand over their respective ministries to the permanent secretaries, pending the reconstitution of a new Executive Council.

According to Umoren, the governor expresses his deep and profound appreciation for the contributions of the former EXCO members to the development of the state.

He wished them success in their future endeavors.
