The incoming governor of the state, Kayode Fayemi, had soon after his victory said he would probe the tenure of Governor Fayose.

“What was received in Ekiti State and the expenditures in that period, why were we not able to pay salaries in the state? These issues should be examined in the interest of good governance.

“It is not about probing Fayose, probing Eleka etc. It is about not repeating the mistakes of the past and giving our people good government. So, we will also involve in looking at what transpired in the last four years”, Fayose had said.

Fayemi had also accused the outgoing governor of wanting to sell government properties before leaving office.

He warned members of the public to beware and be circumspect over the said properties as his government may not recognize the transactions

But Fayose insisted that he is still governor till October 15 and would function till the last day.

He advised the incoming governor to wait till he is sworn-in.
