Gov Namadi signs N689.3bn 2025 budget in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, on Tuesday signed the 2025 budget of N689.3 billion into law.
The state House of Assembly passed the budget on Monday following the adoption of the report by the House Standing Committee on Appropriation.
The government had earmarked N70.1 billion for recurrent expenditure and N537.3 as capital expenditure in the budget.
In his address shortly after he signed the budget at the Government House in Dutse, Namadi described the appropriation bill as the “highest” in the history of the state.

He pledged to make Jigawa greater as he signed the second appropriation bill since assuming office in May 2023.
The governor said: “The important thing is that about 76 percent of the budget is for capital projects and this shows our stride and our desire to develop Jigawa State.”
Namadi, who commended the Assembly for the expeditious passage of the appropriation bill, said the scrutiny and speed signified the synergy between the executive and the legislature.
He also called for continued collaborations among all arms of government to ensure the effective delivery of democratic dividends to the people of the state.
