The Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha has been lambasted by Facebook users after he was accused of ignoring a court order restraining him from demolishing residential quarters majorly owned by lecturers in an area in Owerri, the state capital, known as Shell Camp.

The name callings heaped on Okorocha followed a Facebook post by an activist, founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Spaces for Change (S4C), Victoria Ibezim Ohaeri, claiming that her parents’ home and other buildings in the quarters were about to be demolished.

She alleged that the governor wants to demolish the buildings in the area and reallocate the land to his son-in-law who is also his Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu as well as national and state lawmakers.

Disclosing the phone number (07067777077), she said belonged to the governor, Ohaeri wrote, “This is Governor Rochas Okorocha’s number. My parents’ home at Shell Camp Owerri is about to be demolished right now. My siblings are packing to God-knows-where.

“I have shouted, written articles, petitions to local and international organisations. There’s a court injunction (restraining order) that Governor Rochas continues to ignore.

“It seems I have exhausted all lifelines. If you can, call Rochas on this number and ask him why he must bulldoze the homes of poor lecturers and reallocate the land to his son-in-law, senators of the Federal Republic and state lawmakers. Please call and ask questions.”
