Gov Okorocha fires Commissioner for Information, others
Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, has fired the state Commissioner for Information, Tourism and Public Utilities, Dr Vitalis Ajumbe and some officials in his cabinet.
 
The dismissal is contained in a statement released by governor’s Principal Secretary, Dr Paschal Obi, who directed the affected commissioner to submit all government property in his possession to the permanent secretary of the ministry.
 
Also sacked by the Governor was the Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment, Dr Kelechi Okpaleke, he replaced him with the Transition Committee Chairman of Ikeduru Local Council, Obinna Nshirim.
 
Justice Ojika, Special Assistant to the governor on Niger Delta Affairs was also dismissed.
 
Pastor Ralph Afoaku, who was formerly the Personal Assistant to Okorocha on Media Productions, is appointed as the new director general of Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC).
 
 
As revealed by the statement, Chief Val Mbamala is appointed the Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment and Anoayo Chukwu Obasi Odo Idiong, the Principal Officer to the Governor on Electronic Media.
 
The governor announced Mr Evan Enwerem Junior, the Transition Committee Chairman nominee for Ikeduru Local Council.
 
According to the statement, all the sack and appointments are with immediate effect.
