Gov Tambuwal sets up committee to probe killings involving NAF personnel, gives members ultimatum

SOKOTO: Tambuwal condems killing of two by armed soldiers

The Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal has given the 10-man committee set up to investigate the recent killings involving some men of the Nigerian Air Force, five days to submit its report.

Tambuwal who gave the directive on Friday during the inauguration of the committee said that he expects the report to be submitted to his office on Tuesday October 29.

The governor who was represented at the inauguration by Commissioner, Careers and Security Matters, Rt. Col.Garba Moyi said the representation of the committee which comprised representatives of Sultanate Council, Civil Society, Nigerian Army ,Air Force,Civil Defence, DSS, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Careers and Security Matters,(MOCS), indicated the seriousness the government attached to the issue.

He said; “The government of Sokoto State is committed to work on the outcome of the committee’s assignment which is expected in five-days.

“All members of the fact-finding committee are hereby enjoined to be just and honest in carrying out the task.”

The 10-man committee is chaired by Deputy Commissioner,Criminal Investigation Department, DCP Charles Mozie, while the Secretary is Abdulkadir Muhammad from MOCS.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar was represented in the committee by Ubandoman Sabon-Birni, Alhaji Malami Malami Maccido and Distric Head of Gagi, Alhaji Sani Umar-Jabbi.
