Gov Umahi sacks 13 caretaker chairmen, raises personal aides to 681

Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi on Monday dissolved the state’s 13 caretaker chairmen and 64 development centre coordinators.

He also appointed 57 personal aides; among whom were 46 technical assistants and 11 special assistants.

With the 57 latest appointments, the governor now has a total number of 691 personal aides since coming to office two years ago.

The governor, who also inaugurated the newly elected chairmen of local government areas and board of the state Fertiliser Bending Plant located in Onuebonyi in Abakaliki LGA, disclosed the dissolution of the councils in Abakaliki during the Grand Finale event marking the 2017 Democracy Day celebration and inauguration of chairmen and vice chairmen of local government areas.

He told the appointees, “This is not business as usual; we are bringing you on board to fill the gap in the task to re-position the state.”

He asked them to be dedicated and committed.
