Gov Umahi sets tune for ‘win at all cost’ politics, vows to grind anyone that opposes his re-election into ashes

Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi has said that he will from January 1, 2019 pay full attention to the politics of the general elections like a tsunami and that anyone opposed to his re-election may be grinded into ashes.

The governor stated this at the weekend when he addressed the people of the old Ohaozara political bloc at a rally organized by Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo local government areas to adopt the governor as their sole candidate for the 2019 election at Obiozara, headquarters of Ohaozara LGA.

Umahi also told his supporters at the rally that no less than 29 political parties in Abuja, had already adopted him as their sole candidate in the forthcoming general elections.

He said that the parties would storm the state in February to formalize the adoption.

He added, “Anyone who tries us would be injured because if the person falls on us, he will be grinded into granite and if we fall on him, he will be grinded into ashes.

“I will pay full attention to the politics of the general elections from January 1, 2019 and it would be like tsunami, something that has never been seen before.

Noting that he had resolved with his deputy to continue their “divine work” together, the governor said, “anyone who tries to terminate it would face God’s anger” and might not be there during their swearing-in ceremony.

The governor who said that the adoption of some candidates for some positions was irrevocable, also boasted that Ebonyi State would record more than one million votes during the 2019 elections.

He however said that the politicians who will be adopted must “work out their own salvation and take care of the parties, empower the youths and widows in their constituencies as we would be watching them.”

The governor said that he would have loved to call the names of some office holders whose continuation, he was currently reviewing his support for, but that his deputy advised him against such.

“We would withdraw our support for them, stop infrastructural works in their areas, tell their people that they are the cause of the stoppage, so that they would be chased with brooms, umbrella and cocks,” he said.

Among people the governor said would be returned unopposed having done well, were Linus Okorie, member representing Ohanivo Federal Constituency and the state House of Assembly Deputy Speaker, Chief Obasi Odefa.
