Greece: Fear grips migrant refugees with new border controls

There is growing fear among migrant refugees in Greece who worry that they will not be allowed to continue their sojourn into Europe with new border controls by Balkan states leaving thousands of them trapped.

With thousands fleeing war in the Middle East and beyond, the UN is warning of a growing humanitarian challenge along Macedonia’s border with Greece as scores of refugees remain stuck in limbo.

The refugees continued to demand on Sunday that they be allowed to continue their journey as tension continues to boil over following dipping temperatures.
New border controls has seen four Balkans countries announcing a daily cap on how many people can pass through and Austria has restricted entry for hundreds of thousands of refugees.
The border restrictions has seen Greece- a primary gateway to Europe flooded with refugees seeking their ways into perceived greener pastures.
