Guardiola 'satisfied' with draw against Man United

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has expressed his satisfaction over his side’s goalless draw in their Premier League clash against city rivals Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday.

While United held on in defence to extend their unbeaten run to 24 games, City substitute Gabriel Jesus had a late header correctly ruled out for offside as they remain in fourth place.

Red Devil Marouane Fellaini was sent off in the 84th minute for headbutting Sergio Aguero in a tie that was actually a pretty dull game of attack versus defence football with the red card being the one major talking point.

However, both City and United are still very much in the race for top four finish – United behind by only one pointon fifth – with five games remaining.

“We cannot forget which team we were against tonight,” City Boss Pep Guardiola said in a post-match conference.

“They’ve played 23 games without defeat. But we created enough chances, including chances to score. But they created only two clear chances and I am satisfied.

“In terms of statistics and in the way we played; especially in our approach to the game, I am so satisfied.

“Because I know how difficult it is to play against Manchester United.”

As it stands, not much has really changed in the battle for the Champions League places. City and United picked up a point each. And they remain fourth and fifth respectively.
