Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has led Manchester City to their first title this season as they thrashed Arsenal to lift the Carabao Cup at Wembley on Sunday.

Having crashed out of the FA Cup last Monday after a shock defeat at League One side Wigan Athletic, City responded to Sunday’s encounter in style as they hammered the Gunners 3-0.

Sergio Aguero gave City an 18th-minute lead. And just before the hour mark, Vincent Kompany swept in Ilkay Gundogan’s cross-shot to double their lead, before David Silva put the final flourish on the day on 65 minutes.

“It’s important. We’re so happy, and a big congratulations to all of Manchester City, and our fans. This trophy is for Manchester City and not for me,” Guardiola said after the victory.

Manchester City have won the League Cup for a fifth time, and only Liverpool have won it more often than them.

The Spaniard, who joined the Manchester side last season, would be hoping that his boys who are still in the running for the Premier League and the Champions League, would be able to replicate Sunday’s success.
