Gunman goes on rampage in gay club, shoots 20 people dead
A trigger-happy gunman went on rampage in the American city of Florida killing 20 people and injuring 42 others at a gay night club known as Pulse.
Reports say the shooter who was armed with an assault-type rifle, handgun and some type of other device, died in a shootout with a team of policemen who engaged him in a gun duel.

The exact number of dead and injured people inside the Pulse nightclub could not be confirmed but eyewitnesses say at least 20 lifeless bodies littered the nightclub and 42 other were injured following the shootout.
“Unfortunately there are people who died from gunshot wounds, maybe around 20, inside the night club,” Ron Harper, an FBI special agent, said, adding that one officer was injured.
John Mina, Orlando police chief, said: “This did turn into a hostage situation. At approximately 05:00 hours (09:00 GMT) this morning, the decision was made to rescue hostages that were in there.”
