Gunmen abduct Catholic priest in Edo

Gunmen on Sunday abducted the rector of the Immaculate Conception Minor Seminary, Ivhianokpodi, Etsako East local government area of Edo State, Rev. Fr. Father Thomas Oyode.

The Director of Communications of the Auchi Catholic Diocese, Rev. Fr. Peter Egielewa, said in a statement on Monday that Oyode was abducted during evening prayers with priests and seminarians of the Immaculate Conception Minor Seminary in the area.

He added that the vice rector and all the seminarians in the church have been relocated to a safer place.
