Gunmen abduct medical doctor in Anambra

Gunmen on Tuesday abducted a neurosurgeon with the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi, Anambra State, Dr. Collinus Onuigbo.
The doctor was abducted a few days after Governor Charles Soludo, launched the joint security force, “Operation Udo ga-achị” in the state.
Eyewitnesses told journalists on Wednesday that Onuigbo was kidnapped in front of his residence in the state capital.

The spokesman for the state police command, Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident.
He said the command had deployed operatives to rescue the victim.
