Gunmen abduct Romanian engineer in Delta
A group of gunmen believed to be kidnappers have abducted a Romanian engineer identified as Mr. Christian Nedelcu, 52, after swooping on him and his other colleagues in Delta State.
Moments after he was abducted at Railway Village in Owa Oyibo, Agbor, an exchange of gunfire ensued between security personnel detailed to protect the Romanian and the gunmen.
The incident adds to the growing worry of kidnappings in Nigeria which has almost become a daily occurrence as the Romanian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. George, has called on the Federal Government, Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and other security agencies to do everything possible to rescue the abducted expatriate.
