Gunmen abduct Taraba Deputy governor’s PA

The Personal Assistant to the Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Bala Baba has been abducted by gunmen.

According to reports from Jalingo, Bala was abducted from his residence in Sabongari area of Jalingo at about 1.30 am on Tuesday.

Family sources also disclosed that the gunmen invaded the area and shot sporadically for about 30 minutes before taking away the deputy governor’s PA, adding that the gunmen headed for the Gongon -Malik area of Jalingo after grabbing him.

The abduction of Bala Baba is coming about 24 hours after the Taraba State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Peter Jediel was abducted from his residence at Sunkani, Ardo-Kola Local Government Area of the state on Sunday.

Confirming the development, the Acting Public relations officer of Taraba command, ASP, Reform Leha, said an investigation was on top gear with the view to tracking down the criminals.

The abductors, according to the family source, are yet to establish contacts with the family of the victim.
