Gunmen abduct two Heartland players in Ondo

Gunmen on Sunday night abducted two players of Heartland Football Club of Owerri.

The players — Dayo Ojo and Benjamin iluyomade – were abducted by the hoodlums along the Benin-Akure Expressway in Ondo State.

The two men were travelling to Akure after their club declared a holiday for the team due to the COVID -19 pandemic in the country.

The Spokesman of the Ondo State police command, Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirmed the players’ abduction.

He said police detectives had been deployed by the command to rescue the players.
