Gunmen abduct university lecturer in Adamawa, kill brother

A senior lecturer at the Department of Soil Science, Modibbo Adamawa University of Technology, Professor Adamu Zata has been kidnapped by gunmen.

His younger brother, Dr. Sheda Zata was also shot dead by the gunmen who struck exactly one year after Professor Zata was first kidnapped and a N2 million ransom paid for his release.

Accounts by family members revealed that the heavily armed men stormed Adamu’s residence in the early hours of Monday and whisked him away.
