Gunmen kidnap Ekiti INEC secretary

11 kidnap suspects terrorising Plateau poly quarters arrested

Unknown gunmen on Thursday abducted the administrative Secretary of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ekiti State, Muslim Omoleke.

Omoleke, who was whisked away along with his driver and child, was said to have been kidnapped at Iwaraja, a town near Ilesa in Osun State at about 4pm and that his abductors drove away into the forest of Ijesaland.

Spokesperson of INEC in Ekiti, Alhaji Taiwo Gbadegesin who confirmed the incident said that the matter had been reported to security agencies in Ondo, Osun and Ekiti states.

According Gbadegesin, Omoleke had gone on visits to Ondo and Osun States.

The abductors are yet to contact the family or the commission.
