Gunmen burn several houses in fresh attack on Plateau community

Some unknown gunmen have kidnapped a lawmaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Aminu Magaji Bodai.

Bodai who represents Denge/Shuni State Constituency was kidnapped by the gunmen around 1:15 am on Thursday.

A close relation of the lawmaker confirmed that he was abducted between Dange and Bodai town.

“I can confirm to you that my brother was kidnapped by yet-to-be-identified persons.

“His whereabouts is unknown yet and his abductors are yet to contact his family members.”

The state Public Relation Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Mohammed Sadiq Abubakar, confirmed the incident.

He said the “details of the matter was still sketchy”.

He also assured that police had swung into action over the incident.
