Gunmen abduct lawyer in Osun

Unknown gunmen have abducted two staff of multi-national oil company, Shell, after killing a Spy policeman attached to them.

The incident took place along Ahoada-Ndele-Rumuji axis of the Est West Road on Thursday, as the abducted workers were travelling from Yenogoa, the Bayelsa State capital to Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

According to reports, the gunmen first killed the Spy police, who was driving the escort vehicle before abducting the two workers.

The incident, which happened at about 4:00pm, caused panic among motorists plying the road, forcing many of them to flee the area.

The incident was confirmed by the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Nnamdi Omoni.

According to Omoni, investigation had begun to ensure that the victims regained their freedom.
