Gunmen reportedly invade Okorocha’s residence

Okorocha takes on Udenwa, describes him as worst governor ever

The residence of the immediate past governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha was raided in the early hours of Saturday by some unknown gunmen.

According to a source that spoke to The Nation on condition of anonymity, the gunmen were suspected to be hired assassins.

The Okorochas’ residence is located in Ogboko, Ideato South Council Area of Imo State.

A family member who spoke to newsmen on the incident said the assailants penetrated the former governor’s abode after which they overpowered the security guard around 2am.

It was gathered that no valuable item that was taken away by the assailants, but Okorocha’s bedroom and other places were thoroughly ransacked, raising suspicion that the invaders may be hired assassins.

This is coming two days after the Akachi tower, one of the monuments built by the former governor was demolished allegedly on the orders of the State Government.

Meanwhile, the state government had denied being responsible for the demolition.
