Gunmen reportedly kill APC councillorship candidate in Ogun

Gunmen reportedly killed a councilorship candidate in Ogun State, Adeyinka Adeleke on Saturday.

The deceased was the All Progressives Congress (APC) councillorship candidate for Abeokuta South local government area in the November 16 elections in the state.

He was also a member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the Panseke area of Abeokuta before his death.

Eyewitnesses told journalists the attackers stormed the Jide Jones area of the state capital in a tinted car and started shooting sporadically to scare away the residents.

They later shot the politician and quickly drove away from the scene.

However, the state police command has not confirmed the incident at the time of filling this report.
