Hackers on the prowl, impersonate Ambode
Lagos State Governor Akinwumi Ambode has alerted the public to be wary of some persons opening series of accounts on Facebook in his name and using his photographs to solicit for curriculum vitae from friends and acquaintances for appointments using [email protected] email address.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Habib Aruna, the governor urged the public to disregard any entreaty from such persons, adding that the “unscrupulous characters” sought to take advantage of his goodwill by defrauding members of the public, particularly his associates.
The statement partly read: “The governor had been inundated with complaints from his associates alerting of the rapid proliferation of his identity in cyberspace under different platforms, especially the social media, with obvious intents to defraud Nigerians.”
