The new Inspector General of Police (IGP) Solomon Arase wants Nigerians to let go their belief of the average Nigerian policeman when relating with him, as he, unlike the general belief is allergic to corruption.

The IGP made the declaration while addressing senior police officers and men during his maiden visit to the Lagos State Police Command weekend.

He said, “I am allergic to corruption and I have zero tolerance for it. Therefore, I don’t want to ambush any officer and anybody”.

Arase also announced that16 teams have been deployed across all geo-political zones to enforce the ban on roadblocks.

The acting IG, who was received by the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Mbu Joseph Mbu, heading the Zone 2 Command, comprising Lagos and Ogun States, said the ban on roadblocks would be enforced to the latter.

He also said, “Also, I have directed that every person unauthorised to carry police officers as escort should be withdrawn.”
