‘Height of ungodliness,’ Edo APC faults Gov Obaseki’s claim on rift with Oshiomhole
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council in Edo State has faulted the claim by Governor Godwin Obaseki on the rift with his predecessor, Adams Oshiomhole.
Obaseki had a few days ago claimed that the disagreement between the pair was caused by the state burial given to the late former Minister of Works, Tony Anenih.
But in a statement issued on Sunday in Benin City, the Council’s Director of Media, Kassim Afegbua, described the governor’s claim as “the height of ungodliness and devilish intentions.”
He said Obaseki’s political differences with Oshiomhole began in late 2017, long before Anenih’s death in October 2018.

The spokesman said: “It is terrible character indices for Governor Obaseki to raise such devious reason as the rationale for his breaking apart from Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.”
Afegbua recalled that he had attempted to reconcile Obaseki and Oshiomhole in May 2018, but the governor showed no interest in resolving their differences.
He added: “The governor said at the time ‘that short man from that little village of Iyamho, cannot run the show.’
“He wants to profit from the death of Chief Anenih for political reasons. I am ashamed to hear this, to read this. Imagine the height of desperation just to implant a godson, when he once quarreled with the idea of a godfather. What manner of a leader is Governor Obaseki? Profiteering from the dead?”
