Herdsmen allegedly attack Agatu in Benue, kill 20

Herdsmen on Sunday allegedly attacked Okokolo village, Agatu LGA of Benue State and killed no fewer than 20 villagers. The claim was made by the Caretaker Chairman of Agatu Local Government area Council, Hon Usman Alilu.

Reports claim that the attackers also burnt down several houses and properties of the residents.

Hon Usman Alilu, who confirmed the development, said he had directed soldiers to the troubled area.

“We are on top of the situation now,” the Agatu Caretaker Chairman said while responding to media inquiries.
