Again, herdsmen invade Falae's farm, open fire on policemen

The vast farmland of Mr. Olu Falae, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, has been invaded again by marauding herdsmen.

They reportedly attacked policemen who were standing guard at the farm located at Kajola Village, Ondo State.

According to reports, the brazen herdsmen numbering up to 10 opened fire on the policemen and even challenged the cops that they would not leave the farm until, their cattle grazed on it.

However, the herdsmen where reportedly chased away according to Mr. Femi Joseph, the state Police Public Relations Officer who also said no arrests were made.

Confirming the incident, Falae said; “I invited the police to my farm because the herdsmen have been coming to the farm every day for several weeks.

They came into the farm around 5am till 9am and destroyed the farm. So, I went to the police for protection and some policemen were sent to the farm.

“They got to the farm and met three separate herds feeding fat on my farm. When the policemen approached them, they fired at the policemen.

“The policemen went there to see if they can effect arrest for trespassing and destroying farm produce. So if the herdsmen could fire at the policemen what would they do to me?”

The herdsmen are not Fulani herdsmen but terrorists pretending to be herdsmen. This is the best time to start arresting any herdsman who trespasses if we want to put an end to it.

Arrest can never happen becauw they have the federal government’s back up which is why they have more confidence to misbehave and do anything they like on people’s farmlands

Are herdsmen supposed to be moving around with guns? The only thing they use is long stick for controlling their cows, herdsmen with guns should be arrested with or without causing any trouble. It’s arrant nonsense to move about with gun!

Herdsmen have taken over this country and they have grown feather and becoming more dangerous than the Boko Haram. I pity other tribes in Nigeria. This country is for the North.
