Hiddink returns to rescue Chelsea

For the second time, Guus Hiddink has been appointed Chelsea interim manager until the end of the season.

The club announced the appointment of Hiddink on Saturday, days after sacking former manager, Jose Mourinho, after a string of poor results that has left the current Premier League champions a point above relegation zone.

The Dutch 69, succeeds Jose Mourinho, is returning to a role he previously performed in 2009, when he led Chelsea to glory in the FA Cup.

“I am excited to return to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea is one of the biggest clubs in the world, but is not where it should be at the moment. However, I am sure we can all turn this season around”, Hiddink told Chelsea website.

The coach of the Russian national team expressed his readiness to work with the players and staff at at Chelsea to turn arround the fortunes of the club.
