  1. Director of Informal Sector Revenue Generation

Qualifications, Responsibilities, Knowledge and Experience Requirements.

  • Director of Informal Sector Revenue Generation administers and enforces regulatory standards by supervising activities of, and acting as a resources to all internal and external parties that directly engage in revenue collection specifically within the informal sector.
  • The Director will be responsible for planning, organizing and directing the management and administrative responsibilities for billing, revenue collection and development of revenue generating activities; and provide supervision over professional and support staff towards this end.

7. Director of Legal & Prosecution Services

Qualifications, Responsibilities, Knowledge and Experience Requirements.

  • Director of Legal & Prosecution Services is required to establish and enforce tax administration policy and provide taxpayers top quality service by helping them understand and meet their tax responsibilities.
  • She/he is to conduct effective, economical and efficient prosecution service as an integral part of the enforcement of the tax laws and systems.

The Director will be responsible for 2 main categories of tasks as follows:

  • Legal Services & Advisory: Report directly to Executive Chairperson and assist the required personnel by providing advice on a wide range of technical, operational, or theoretical aspects of regulatory issues. Also, be a legal technical and policy resource to IK-IRS and mentor staff on regulatory policy and mechanism.
  •  Prosecution Services: Analyze the issues and parties position in complex or significant cases, developing a deep and comprehensive understanding of the issues through the reading of testimony and through direct contact with the parties, when warranted.
  • Minimum Number of Years Experience: 15 years.
  • Minimum Education Required: MA/MSc/MBA; CPA/CFA/CMA.

9. Informal Revenue Manager

Qualifications, Responsibilities, Knowledge and Experience Requirements

  • The Manager, under administrative direction of the Director of Informal Sector Revenue Generation, plans organizes, directs and supervises the revenue collection functions in all ramifications as they pertain to markets, artisans and professional in the informal sector.
  • This role is the main funnel through which feedback from the Regional Coordinators and Office Heads in the Field is distilled, categorized and analyzed into useful business intelligence.
  • Minimum Number of Years Experience: 8 years.
  • Minimum Education Required: BA/BSc; MA preferred.
  • Anticipated Start Date: August 2015.

10. Receptionist

  • The Receptionist provides general support to the KS-IRS as an organization by assisting with asset and inventory management, customer service and any other logistical and professional needs that will help achieve organizational goals.
  • Minimum Number of Years Experience: 4 years.
  • Minimum Education Required: BA/BSc
  • Anticipated Start Date: November 2015.

11. Driver

Qualifications, Responsibilities, Knowledge and Experience Requirements

  • The Driver position is more than just for transportation.
  • It requires a professional approach that makes the incumbent able to cover logistics, vehicular management, errands, and other tasks that each direct superior and/or the organization needs.
  • Minimum Number of Years Experience: 10 years.
  • Minimum Education Required:  At least HND; Individual also trained as a mechanic is preferred.

12. Director of Tax Audit

  • The Director is directly responsible for verifying the accuracy of tax records and other remittances by individuals, businesses, MDAs and other partie that have a duty to do so.
  • The Director is expected to ensure that methodologies that the urrent context in Kwara State will be developed and deployed in accordance with all Federal and State tax laws.
  • Furthermore, it is the incumbent’s responsibilities to develop processes and automated systems that will ensure that each audit is cost effective, and achieves the desired result.

  • Minimum Education Required: LLM; MA/MBA/MSc.

13. Assistant Director of Corporate Affairs & Internal Audit.

Qualifications, Responsibilities, Knowledge and Experience Requirements

  • The Assistant manages 2 complimentary but distinct functions – Corporate Affairs which is mainly external-facing; Internal Audit (and compliance) which is mainly internal-facing.
  • Internally, the Assistant maintains a comprehensive set of processes and controls to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the organization’s reported financial results, and ensure that KS-IRS complies with generally accepted accounting principles and standards.
  • Externally, the Assistant serves as the primary KS-IRS contact for all state and federal level oversight agencies. And most importantly she/he will lead the development and maintenance of strategic relationships with key service providers.

14. Regional Coordinators

There are 2 Regional Coordinators, and they will be situated in the KS-IRS GQ Ilorin:

  • Ilorin Coordinator – covering Ilorin East, South and West LGAs
  • Regional Coordinator – covering the 13 other LGAs
  • Regional Coordinators primary role is to connect the revenue collection agent on the field with the leadership and management in Ilorin. In so doing, they perform a 2 way function of:

                                                        i.            Transmitting directives from management to field operatives, and

                                                      ii.            Escalating pertinent information from the field to the Executive Management Team through the Director of informal Sector Revenue Collection.

  • Regional Coordinators will also be required to collaborate with other Directors towards the fulfilment of their divisional duties and larger organizational goals.
  • Minimum Number of Years Experience: 8 years.
  • Minimum Education Required: MA/MSc.
  • Anticipated Start Date: November 2015

15. Executive Assistant.

Qualifications, Responsibilities, Knowledge and Experience Requirements

  • The Assistant is an important role in the management of information, schedules and workload that the Director for informal Sector Revenue Generation (and other managers in the department, if required) must work through.
  • Therefore, she/he must be proactive, ready to work, proffer solutions before issues become larger, ad generally do what it takes to assist in a minimum first level of preliminary work and analysis on information that comes into the departments (and KS-IRS) from the field.

16. Regional Office Head.

Qualifications, Responsibilities, Knowledge and Experience Requirements

  • Regional Office Head are charge of ensuring and reporting data, revenues collected, and critical information that can impact the success of the KS-IRS and KWSG’s interaction with informal sector players (markets, professionals and artisans).
  • This role is critical to ensuring continuous enumeration of businesses and individual in this sector and encouraging their continuous voluntary contribution of taxes.

  • Minimum Education Required: BA/BSc; MA preferred.
  • Anticipated Start Date: November 2015

17.  Revenue Agent.

Qualifications, Responsibilities, Knowledge and Experience Requirements

  • Revenue Agents are field operatives that interact directly with the informal sector taxpayers.
  • They are directly responsible for tax collection within their assigned catchment area.
  • They will be paid a base salary and receive a commission based on the total amount collected monthly. Each Revenue Agent is considered an important element of the grassroots approach to collection in the informal sector
  • Minimum Number of Years Experience: 2 years.
  • Minimum Education Required:  At Least HND.
  • Anticipated Start Date: November 2015
