Super Eagles winger, Victor Moses says he was more than devastated after the national team failed to progress to the second round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The Eagles crashed out of the competition after falling to a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Argentina in their final group game last Tuesday.
Nigeria needed at least a draw from the match to progress to the knockout stages of the Russia showpiece, while the Argentines needed a win.
But Moses, who cancelled Lionel Messi’s opener with a converted penalty in the second half, was disappointed after an 86th-minute Marcos Rojo goal shattered Nigeria’s dreams.

“To say I am devastated would be an understatement. The boys gave absolutely everything and I wish it could have led to us going through,” the Chelsea star tweeted on Wednesday.
“I am proud to be a part of this team though and I proud to be Nigerian. Thank you to the whole country for the incredible support. ❤🇳🇬 .”
Nigeria finished third in the group D ahead of Iceland, while Croatia and Argentina progressed as winners and runners-up of the group.
The Eagles will be returning home from Russia by tomorrow (Friday), according to the team’s media representative, Ibitoye who spoke on Television on Thursday morning.
