Different videos circulating on social media showed that the Federal Government guidelines on COVID-19 fight failed in many places on the first day of easing the lockdown in some parts of the country.

President Muhammadu Buhari had last week Monday announced gradual easing of lockdown placed in Abuja as well as Lagos and Ogun states beginning from May 4.

Giving directives on the easing of the lockdown in the three areas and in other states of the country, the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 announced among other things that people must maintain social distancing, wear face masks, and not gather in large groups.

However, different videos on social media showed a total disregard of these guidelines.

One of the videos showed how a crowd besieged a branch of Access Bank in Ikotun, Lagos, struggling to gain entrance into the bank in total disregard of the social distancing order.

Another video also showed Lagosians throng Yaba market without any respect for the PTF directive on crowding.

Similar incidents also happened in Anambra, where passengers on foot were seen, scrambling for passage at Onitsha bridge.
