How Oshiomhole squandered N600bn –PDP

The Chairman of the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Dan Orbih has revealed that of the about One Trillion Naira generated through Federal allocation, internally generated revenue, loans and support from international organisations, over six hundred and sixty billion Naira cannot be accounted for by Governor Adams Oshiomhole in his seven years tenure.

Chief Orbih made this known yesterday at a news briefing held at the party’s secretariat to review the seven years of Governor Oshiomhole’s seven years in office.

The Edo State PDP Chairman said the seven years tenure of Governor Oshiomhole has left in its trail unbearable hardship, anti-people policies, unfulfilled promises and neglect of various sectors of the state’s economy.

Chief Orbih aid that contrary to expectations of Edo people that the seventh anniversary of Governor Oshiomhole would meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people, the governor chose the occasion to insult leaders and elders of Edo State.

He said that of about One trillion Naira received by the governor, he was only able to account for One hundred and Twenty-one Billion Naira, he claimed was used for contracts, one hundred and forty-seven Billion Naira allocated for salaries while Six hundred and Sixty Billion Naira remains unaccounted for.

In a sectorial analysis, Chief Orbih said the Oshiomhole administration in seven years failed to make the needed impact in human capacity development, youth empowerment, security, health and education amongst others.

He said the governor also failed to use the over forty Billion Naira received as security vote to transform Edo State rather, Obih alleged, the money was channeled to acquire choice properties within and outside the country.

Chief Orbih assured Edo citizens that more facts on alleged looting of the state treasury by Governor Oshiomhole would be unveiled in subsequent briefings.

In a swift reaction, Edo State APC Publicity Secretary, Comrade Godwin Erhahon described the allegations by the PDP as baseless and frivolous.

Erhahon said that the state has benefited in the areas of infrastructure and human capacity development in the last seven years.
