Hunt for men who dropped crocodile in Australian school begins

A search has begun in earnest for four suspected burglars who left behind three malnourished salt water crocodiles in the premises of a school they broke into carting away computer equipment.

Reports say the three men pushed the crocodiles through a broken window after they broke into the Taminmin College in Humpty Doo, 40km (25 miles) south of Darwin in Australia.

The burglars who according to Parks and Wildlife rangers said the reptiles may probably have been taken from a nearby crocodile farm were also captured on CCTV footage stealing a computer monitor before running away with their loot.

“Basically skin and bones, not much meat left on them; they were really quiet and easy to catch,” ranger Luke McLaren told ABC radio.

“We’ll determine what farm they’re from and we’ll try to take them back to that farm but looking at their condition it’s likely they’ll have to be destroyed.” The ranger added.
