I am not Guardiola, says Oliseh

In from Nifemi Daniel …
Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has pleaded not to be compared with Bayern Munich coach, Pep Guardiola, stating that he is just simply “Sunday Oliseh from Delta State”.
The former Ajax of Holland midfielder was reacting to a presentation by the Nigeria Football Federation’s president, Amaju Pinnick, who called him the ‘Pep Guardiola of Africa’ during his unveiling as Nigeria coach.
Speaking on a radio programme monitored in Lagos at the weekend, the former international said he was not ready to be compared with anybody.
“I don’t really want to join issues with anybody that was why i didn’t say anything about it in the past,” he said.
“Now that you people (journalists) are bringing the issue up again, i have to be clear about it. I am here to work as myself and not as someone else.”
In another development, the coach said he has closed the issue of players to be invited for the AFCON 2017 qualifier game against Tanzania next month, as the list of players that would be joining the home-based stars will be released this week.

When asked about extending invitation to players like Obafemi Martins who has been doing well in the MLS, the coach said without mentioning names: “Only 11 players can play during a game and to get the best 11 players, I can’t be inviting 300 players.
“I can tell you that all the players that I have met during my tour are responding well, they are all doing well and I already settled the issue of players to be invited.”
The Super Eagles camp is expected to be opened on Monday (today) with 21 home-based players invited for the game against Tanzania scheduled for September 5.
