I am the man in the hat - Brussels attack suspect says
Belgian national Mohamed Abrini has confessed to be the man behind the hat before the explosions that rocked the Brussels airport and a train station.
According to prosecutors Abrini admitted that he is the third fugitive attacker at the Brussels airport bombing which was captured on video.
Ever since the March 22 bombing, security operatives have been frantically seeking the so-called “man in the hat” especially after he was filmed alongside two other suspects before the explosion at the airport.
Federal prosecutors say Abrini who was captured on Friday, “confessed his presence at the crime scene.
He confessed to having thrown away his vest [jacket] in a garbage bin and sold his hat afterward”.
“He is charged with participation in the activities of a terrorist group and terrorist murders,” it said in a statement.
