‘I never thought I would run for office’

Khadija Abdullahi-Iya, the running mate of the presidential candidate of the Alliance for New Nigeria, Fela Durotoye, on Thursday said she had never thought she would run for a political office.

Abdullahi-Iya said this in an interview with The PUNCH correspondent.

She said she did not contemplate contesting for political office because she did not see herself as a politician.

She said she however changed her mind when her husband and others prevailed on her to give it a trial.

She said, “I couldn’t resist the offer when my husband and everyone dear to me urged me to give it a trial.
