Court remands 51-yr-old Polytechnic lecturer for rape, murder of 13-yr-old girl

A 52-year-old trader, Mrs Kuditat Ajayi on Monday told an Igando Customary Court that she slept with her brother-in-law because she thought he was her husband.

This came after Ajayi’s husband, Akande filed for a dissolution of their 35-year-old marriage, accusing her of infidelity.

While narrating her ordeal to the court, Ajayi said she was in bed at night when her husband’s younger brother came to the house her husband rented for her.

She alleged that she mistook her bother-in-law’s identity for her husband and had intercourse with him before realizing she had slept with the wrong person.

Ajayi prayed the court not to grant her husband’s wish for the dissolution of their marriage adding that she still loves him.

However, the 71-year-old petitioner, Akande accused his wife further of being fetish and adulterous.

He begged the court to end the marriage , saying he was no longer interested as the love he once had for her had faded.

The president of the court, Mr Adeniyi Koledoye, urged both parties to maintain peace and adjourned the case until August 22 for judgment.
