Actress Yetunde Bakare has opened up on how her skin colour almost killed her dream of becoming an actress because she was not getting roles like her fair skinned counterparts.

She also revealed that she seriously thought about bleaching at a point in time but decided against it and instead concentrated on improving her acting skills which is now paying off for her.

She said the pressure in the industry at the time really got to her but she believed her talent will take her places.

“Yes, I once thought about becoming light-skinned. It was due to the pressure in the industry. Nobody will recognise you if you’re not on the light side and flashy. Getting jobs will be a bit difficult because movie producers say most of the audience that watch local movies prefer fair ladies but it didn’t bother me because I’m good at what I do. Being fair without talents is a total waste.”

Speaking further, naturally endowed Yetunde remarked that if she is given the opportunity to enhance any part of her body, it will be her backside.

“I have moderate boobs already, so I’ll prefer a big booty and more hips. I don’t like anything in excess because it will affect my shape,” she stated.
