Nigeria’s oldest university, the University of Ibadan (U.I.) has been listed among one of the world’s top universities. According to the ranking released by the Times Higher Education, the institution was ranked 801 and is the only Nigerian university to make the ranking.

A post on the organisation’s website said: “The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2016-2017 list the 980 top universities in the world, making it our biggest international league table to date.

“It is the only global university performance table to judge world class universities across all of their core missions – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook,” the statement said.
