Ibinabo gets N2m bail
In from Ahmed Boulor…

Troubled ex-AGN leader Ibinabo will be released from jail if a bail condition of N2million set by a Lagos Court is met. The thespian can now heave a sigh of relief after her bail application was granted.
The fair skinned actress has been granted bail to the tune of N2million and two sureties who reside in Lagos in like sum after she was slammed with a five-year jail term by the Court of Appeal in Lagos.
The actress was represented in court by a team of counsel led by a former commissioner in Lagos State Muiz Banire.
After examining her appeal, Justice Jamilu Yammama Tukur adjudged that it was shallow and lacked merit.
The ex-beauty queen and graduate of the University of Port Harcourt was involved in an accident involving a staff of the Lagos State hospital, who immediately died on the spot along the Lekki-Epe Expressway in February 2006 with sources saying Ibinabo was under the influence when the accident occurred.

On the 17th of March, Ibinabo failed to secure bail from the Court of Appeal over incompetent application.

The court had, on March 11 upheld the decision of a Lagos High Court sentencing her to 5 years in prison.

A three man-panel of the Court of Appeal headed by Justice UI Ndukwe-Anyanwu, said that the appellant failed to attach copies of the judgment that was delivered by the court which affirmed the five years jail sentence imposed on her.

Justice Ndukwe-Anyanwu was supported by Justices Samuel Oseji and Tijani Abubakar.
