IDP who led funeral prayer for index case in Borno tests positive for covid-19
An Internally Displaced Person (IDP) has tested positive for the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic in Borno State.
The IDP, whose name was not given, tested positive for the virus after leading funeral prayer for the first index Covid-19 case in the state, the late MSF nurse.
This development was made public on Friday evening at the daily media Covid-19 briefings in the state by the secretary, Borno State High Powered Response Team for the Control and Prevention of Covid-19, Dr. Saliyu Kwaya-bura.
Kwaya-bura, who is also the state’s Commissioner for Health, explained that the infected IDP hailed from the Bakassi IDPs camp.

He said that the infected IDP had been taken to isolation centre where he was being monitored.
