IFE CLASH: Court grants monarch, six others N5m bail

Six of the 21 suspects earlier arrested for their involvement in the March 8, 2017 clash between the Yoruba and Hausa communities in the ancient town of Ife, Osun State, which left 46 people dead have been released on bail according to reports.

Earlier today, Oba Ademola Ademiluyi, Pastor Taiwo Fakowajo and four other suspects were granted bail by an Osun State High Court presided over by Justice Kudirat Akano.

The judge granted their bail application filed by their counsel, Mr. Wale Olawoyin with a condition of N5million each and a surety of a level 14 office or a monarch set as other conditions to be met.

Recall two months ago that fifteen out of the 21 indigenes of Ile-Ife who were arrested over their alleged involvement in the clash were released unconditionally.

Those released include Ayoola Abimbola, Bello Wahab, Peter Omisore, Adefisan Isaac, Adelekan Kehinde, Elufisan Akintoye, Omisanmi Isaac and Adejobe Monday.

Others were Olanrewaju Adebayo, Akanbi Adeyinka, Obimakin Samuel, Alhaji Zakariyu Abdulyakeen, Bamidele Elufisan, Clement Kehinde, Akinyombo Seye.
